Optimized Automation for Preparing Homogeneous Solutions
The Automatic Polymer Preparation Unit is designed to automatically prepare polyelectrolyte solutions for use in sludge dewatering systems at wastewater treatment plants.
The system consists of three compartments: dissolution, maturation, and storage. Water is introduced into the system through flow control instruments and combined with the dosed dry polymer before entering the dissolution chamber, where a high-speed mixer ensures complete dissolution. The solution then flows into the maturation chamber, where it is gently mixed by a slow-speed mixer to achieve the required maturation. Once the polyelectrolyte solution is ready for use, it is stored in the storage chamber until required.
The high-speed mixer, slow-speed mixer, and all other wetted components are manufactured from stainless steel to ensure long-term durability and corrosion resistance.
Equipped with a touchscreen control panel, a PLC-based automation system, and integrated sensors, the Automatic Polymer Preparation Unit operates fully automatically with minimal operator intervention. This reduces labor requirements while providing significant savings in operating costs.

Thanks to the PLC-controlled screw feeder in the dosing unit, the desired solution concentration can be achieved with a high level of accuracy.
What measures are taken in the event of a water supply interruption or system failure?
Pressure sensors located at the unit inlet monitor the water supply conditions. If the water pressure drops below the preset threshold or the flow rate decreases, the PLC automatically suspends the dosing process to prevent variations in the solution concentration.
How can sedimentation in the storage tank be prevented?
Automatic Polymer Preparation Units are equipped with coagulation and flocculation mixers as standard. However, in plants with low polymer solution consumption, an additional mixer can be installed in the storage tank to prevent sedimentation during extended holding periods.
